Quick question re audio recording-plug two USB mics into Mac? - anonymouse1 - 08-18-2022 For the interviews I mentioned earlier, I've decided to go with audio only. I'm thinking I could just plug two usb mics into my macbook air, and record on Garageband. Any downsides to that? Any easy, affordable improvements (pop filter on the mic, etc.)? Thanks! Afterthought-Could I plug in more than 2 mics by using a USB hub? I assume so, but want to confirm. Thanks. Re: Quick question re audio recording-plug two USB mics into Mac? - Fritz - 08-18-2022 record to 2 separate chans, not mixed. pop filter depends on the mic and the area you'll be in. windy outside, probably. inside as long as you keep your distance, 6" or so, you should be OK. dynamic handheld like a Shure 57/58 (they don't make it USB, just trying to determine the mic) ![]() ![]() or a lav like a Micky 2. Most pro mics can be USB adapted. Some lavs require external power and can be powered with a separate batt pack, but not all. ![]() "Afterthought-Could I plug in more than 2 mics by using a USB hub?" dunno. But at that point, to me I'd get a cheap mixer. Not an endorsement, just and example.
