A retired New York City Police Department officer who was convicted of several felonies for attacking a D.C. cop with a flag pole on Jan. 6 and then tackling the officer to the ground and attempting to rip off his gas mask was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on Thursday.

While courts have never ruled, it is pretty evident that it could not apply to the presidency. The constitution sets not only the qualifications but disqualifications for the office. It is the only office that is addressed in such a fashion. A person could be convicted of treason and still be elected POTUS.

Not evident whatsoever. Far from settled law. Constitutional scholars can be found on both sides of the issue. Given the current Supreme Court, one can surmise on how it would be ruled on, but the court fight would be highly damaging to any seditionist/tratior.

You are talking about the group who drafted the Constitution. They are better referred to as framers. Not founders.
