SOLD: Mac mini M1 - 8 GB RAM / 256 GB storage - clay - 02-01-2023

My new M2 Mini is great, so I'm letting my M1 go. This is the base model, 8gb ram, 256gb storage. Works great, no issues. I'm the original owner, it was purchased direct from Apple as a refurb in the spring of 2021. Smoke free / pet free home.

Includes the mini, power cord, both in the original box. I'll do a full reinstall of Monterey (what's currently installed), including signing out of iCloud / find my.

I'd like $435 shipped, or best offer. These are selling for $549 new from B&H / Amazon / etc, FYI.

PM me to express interest.

For those wondering, the M1 mini is quite speedy. I have been running the latest Pshop and a filter package Topaz AI and things runs pretty swiftly. I have been de-noising and sharpening sports images shot at ISO 12800 to 25600 and the denoising takes less than about 30 seconds on a 24mp image. Quite a fast machine.

Yeah, I really had very few issues with the M1 Mini from a performance standpoint. The biggest thing for me ended up being the 8gb RAM. It meant that while I could have one resource hungry program open and doing stuff at full speed, I couldn't also have a second one open at the same time (think: Final Cut Pro and a Digital Audio Workstation program [like pro tools]). Even with speedy flash storage, when the programs needed to start paging out, there just wasn't enough left in the tank to let either program do its thing. The M2 Pro Mini that is replacing it has given me a lot more breathing room in that regard....probably more due to the upgraded RAM than the speed or anything else.

I think 8gb is probably fine for most folks doing normal stuff. It's when you really start pushing the machine to its limits that you will notice issues like I have. Even with the low memory it's still faster than most Intel machines.

Yeah, who knows about jdc. Nobody has heard/seen him here in months (6 months maybe?).
