Well, I “upgraded” my Visible account. - rgG - 02-22-2023

I tapped the “upgrade” button in the Visible app and answered the questions.
Because I have an iPhone X, they needed to send me a new SIM.
They shipped it FedEx overnight and I got it today. I did actually have to sign for it, which I haven’t done for anything in a long time.
I followed the “activate” instructions, which meant I changed the SIM and restarted the phone.
I made a call out and then called my number from the home phone and all seems to be working.
I walked outside and tried the data and it does seem a lot faster, but that could be from a lot of factors.
My billing shows that I will be on the $30 plan but get a $5 discount, so all is the same for that.
Overall it was pretty painless. Handling those tiny little SIM cards is always a little fiddly, but that’s not Visible’s fault.
If I get a new phone, it should have an eSIM, so maybe this will be the last time I need to do that.

If you get the upgrade email, I say go ahead and do it.

Glad to hear your experience with the upgrade rgG. I received VISIBLEs email a couple days ago and will need a new sim card as well for my phone. Planning to do it next week after returning home from a trip.
Thanks for sharing how it went.

Hope it goes smoothly for you, too.

Well, I just signed up with Visible for my backup phone (iPhone SE '16) and it's bothered me to do it as me and Verizon don't have a good history. But we have spotty hotspot issues with GSM-mainly at our cottage Up North and at my Mom-in-law's house. Verizon's system is the best at those two locations so I got on Visible just for that reason. But I just signed up three weeks ago so nothing extra for me!

Got my new sim card from VISIBLE early this afternoon and thought it would be a quick process to replace it and be done with the upgrade. Unfortunately, that was not how things went.

Swapped out the sim following VISIBLE's directions and activation did not happen. Attempted to contact VISIBLE through chat and after waiting over twenty minutes and then being disconnected I decided I would try later.

At 6PM my time, I requested a chat and 90 minutes later I was connected to a customer service rep via chat. Apparently VISIBLE experienced some sort of outage today and the rep said we could try to activate the phone, but it might not work. I opted to give it a try since I had been without phone service for several hours. The rep worked her magic and I followed her instructions and the activation was successful.

Phone is now much faster using cellular service and my billing now shows $30/month with a $5discount, so still $25/month.

So all is well after afternoon of no phone service. I think just bad luck on my part trying to activate when they had an outage.

All's well that ends well.
