LOS ANGELES — Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 16 years in prison Thursday for a rape conviction in Los Angeles, adding to a more than two-decade-long sentence already handed down in New York.
Weinstein, 70, was convicted in the Los Angeles case in December, three years after he was convicted at a sex crimes trial in New York City. Weinstein's new sentence will run consecutive with the 23-year term given to him in his New York trial, giving him a total of 39 years behind bars in sex crimes convictions.

CHICAGO — Disgraced musician R. Kelly was sentenced to one additional year in prison by an Illinois federal judge Thursday, nearly five months after he was convicted of sexual exploitation and enticement of a minor.
The sentence is to be served after the 30 years Kelly, 56, is serving after being found guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking by a New York jury in 2021.

So weird. Just the other day I was wondering about Weinstein. Probably because I saw Jeff Garlin in Babylon and with his stubble, he looked freakishly like HW, although he was playing a different f'd up movie exec.

He used to run rock and roll concerts in the Buffalo, New York area. They were Harvey and Corky productions. I used to make buttons for him for the Cannes Film Festival when he was just starting Miramax Films. Never saw him or met him though.

Yeah but remember our prison system's way of reducing sentences for good behavior... half off could mean he's out at 88...
