Recipe software - raz - 02-25-2023
The wife wants to manage her recipes on her iPad.
Requirements are
Holds photos and documents
Can print
Can share to others (text, email, or cloud)
Any recommendations?

I use Evernote for this. It works okay. I like that it gives me a Safari shortcut to save a recipe… or I can use a photo or scan. I add keywords for myself, but I have not tried to print.

I save receipts as PDF files to dropbox. If I need to edit I use graphicconverter. My most used recipe's get printed, put into plastic sheets, and reside in a three ring binder recipe book. I'd like to put an iPad in the kitchen dedicated to recipe's (an old iPad) but my wife is cool to that idea. We will see.

Definitely Paprika.
Works on MacOS, iPadOS, Windows and, Android.
Best function, for me, is the browser function: Look up a recipe and Paprika can grab the actual recipe from within the article, format it for the program and then you save it. You can add notes, a description from the article can be pasted in. You can sort many ways, search on title or ingredients.
It's probably the best recipe program out there. Versatile is its middle name.
I have it on my iMac, my iPad and my iPhone. If they made one for Apple Watch, I'd probably have it there also.
I'm sorry, I don't normally get this passionate about an app, but Paprika deserves it.
PS: if you team this up with a subscription to NYTimes Cooking, it doesn't get any better.

Wow, I'd not heard about Paprika, but I'll look into it. It's been probably 25 years since I wrote some Filemaker templates for recipe cards. You can imagine how long that lasted. I'm a very active cook, and I'm constantly researching recipes, although I almost always tweak them.

Your description of Paprika got me excited. Too excited. $30 later I find out it can’t import pdf files. No problem I’ll import from one of their approved websites. Nope that didn’t work either. I’ll stick with pdf files stored on Dropbox.
