Or is an enclosure for a SATA drive going to just have a SATA connection? Or is there a good deal on a PCI SATA adapter, with cable?
Got 2 drives already in my G5; wanna put one of them in an external case, preferably one with a fanless design.

I would suggest going eSATA. It will be faster than FW800 on a PowerMac G5.

Look at your browser window... up in the top right corner...there's a globe with OWC printed on it. Click there and look....

It's not cheap, but is a high-quality, triple-input enclosure that won't give you any troubles.

Unfortunately, both of those SATA items are out of my budget, and I don't know that I need "that kind" of speed.
I didn't necessarily expect to find a solution for the $30 price pRON found, but at that price I might just go USB2 ...

Just so you know, it is not fast but not slow. It is definitely not as fast as my FW 400 drives. Like I said, I was in a hurry and it was on sale.

Can you list the hard drive brand (model if known) of each of your hard drives? I hear that the Hitachi and Seagate SATA drives draw much more current than the Maxtors.

I remember a few years ago a third-party add-on to allow this for first-gen G5s, and that it was a few hundred dollars. Is that what you have?
