One or more items can't be copied... - thermarest - 02-07-2007 Do you want to skip them and copy the remaining items? I'm copying some files to a backup drive and quite a few of them are giving me this message. One, for example, is the Toast.app file. It doesn't appear to be locked, I have permission to read and write, yet my iBook (10.4.6) refuses to copy it and other files. Anyone know why? Re: One or more items can't be copied... - samintx - 02-07-2007 I'll be happy for the answer...I have had this happen also. Re: One or more items can't be copied... - MacMagus - 02-07-2007 Have you verified your drive with the Disk Utility lately? Re: One or more items can't be copied... - jimbrady - 02-08-2007 Option-Drag the file(s) in question to another folder and you should be good. Re: One or more items can't be copied... - $tevie - 02-08-2007 I find that any files with symbols like $ or % or & seem to create this problem. Or I should say, eliminating them has solved this problem for me in the past. YMMV. Re: One or more items can't be copied... - thermarest - 02-08-2007 opt-drag is a good trick, thanks! What ended up working (by accident, since I had given up momentarily) was that SilverKeeper succeded in copying it to my backup drive, and from there it copied fine to where I wanted it. Weird. I've had the problem too with % and &, etc but thats not the case here. thanks. |
