Another Mac IE Feature I Miss - MysteryGuest - 02-08-2007

Remember the envelope button that made sending web pages to friends so easy? Yeah, that. Is there any way to get "mail link to this page" off the file menu and on to the tool bar?

And an auto-fill that actually worked.

Safari has that feature, but it only works with Apple's Mail.
Firefox can have that via add-on.

I disable that stuff in every browser as a security risk.

I disable auto-fill as well. Don't allow the browser to remember passwords, names, address, etc.

Although, I did set up a client with Opera on her old AMD box running XP Pro SP2 and she was adamant about not having to type her password in every time she had to access her MLS. Ergo, I got to find out how well Opera's Magic Wand tool works. Good stuff.

OmniWeb has the "mail page URL" button as well; you can add it via "customize toolbar..."

As for Safari, I think it works with other Mail programs; doesn't it just depend on which mail client you have selected as a default? (I could be wrong; haven't used Safari in a while.)

Just use a bookmarklet. Create a new bookmark in the Bookmarks Bar called "Email Link" and paste this is as the URL: j‌avascript:void(document.location = ' mailto : ?body = ' + document.location)

- remove spaces from javascript. I had to space it out because of the darned smiley faces feature the forum has.

No one has physical access to my Mac but me.

Thanks, all, especially karsen, 'cause the bookmarklet is working for me.
