paid $8 for 5/lb of whole wheat flour yesterday - Fritz - 05-26-2023 up in a little over a year from $5 that it has been for a decade or more. and I had to go to 3 stores to find any. despite wheat commodity prices going down by half in the last year. In theory, wheat is a trailing commodity price. IE: when the commodity price goes up or down, the price change is reflected at the consumer level 6 months or more later. Other than the occasional almond croissant, anything baked I bake at home coz we don't like soft flavorless bread with 50 ingredients on the bag. Only Alvarado Street comes close. The US has given away technology manufacture, clothes manufacture, failing in automotive manufacture (except foreign car companies in rtw states.
