couple docs - Fritz - 09-26-2023

Emmylou Harris: Deeper Well - very good
Moody Blues: Lost Paris performance - awful. weak footage and totally phony audio. Record remix, nothing live about it.
David Johansen: Personality Crisis: One Night Only - very good

Next up:
Gram Parsons: Fallen Angel
The Godmother Of Rock & Roll - Sister Rosetta Tharpe
George Fest - A Night to Celebrate the Music of George Harrison

Isn't the moody blues thing a bootleg?

I was never interested in punk music or the New York Dolls, but that David Johansen doc looks really good.

Look forward to your next report...

Re: couple docs - Fritz - 09-26-2023

didn't look like a boot as it is multi cam with creds, but who knows.
Not much of a DJ fan neither, but that doc got me to pick up a few DJ and NYD LPs. It's very good.

watched the Gram Parsons "Fallen Angel" tonite made by the BBC, as well as the Emmylou was BBC.
The 1st hour is very good, but then they spend like 30 mins on his death.

Emmylou sums it up near the very end.
"I'd like to see him remembered for his music, not they way he died."

I guess the producers didn't see it that way.

Sister Rosetta Tharpe was very good too.
Way before anyone else.
