Most military bases have a small museum.
The AF museum at Wright-Patt is good enough that it's worth taking a small road trip to visit.
They just got a SU-27.

The USAF museum in Dayton can easily be a two-day visit. There is so much to see.
If you are in NW Florida area, the Naval Air Museum at Pensacola is also a good side trip. If you check ahead, you may be there when the Blue Angels are practicing on the air field behind the museum. You are also less than an hour away from the USS Alabama in Mobile.

I'm surprised they don't have one of the Moldovan MiG-29's that the US bought back in the late 90's on display. One of them was being systematically taken apart in a hangar while I was working at Tyndall, I used to drive past it on my way to the office every day.
But I suppose when they got a Soviet original it took precedence...

No SU-27 on display though.
They do have a MIG-21, but there were more than 10K of those built.
This museum used to be free back when McClellan was still a base.
But back then, they only had 6 or 7 aircraft on display.
I'm glad they have an F111, since McClellan was the depot for those.

No SU-27, but they do have a Mig-17 and the price of admission (free) makes it a worthwhile stop if you are traveling I-75 through Georgia
