Who are the SF peeps here - Black - 09-27-2023 Short trip for Hardly Strictly and SF Symphony this weekend. No chance of rain, right? I actually hate this weather that's right in between shorts/long pants, jacket/hat-no jacket-hat..... temps in 50s at night, low 70s in day-- can someone remind me if low 70s in SF still feels a bit chilly? I tend to run too hot... Will my Clipper card last used 2020 still work? It's all I need to get around the city and to/from airport, right? Thx Re: Who are the SF peeps here - Black - 09-27-2023 Oh, staying on Monterey a couple blocks north of City College... area called "Sunnyside" maybe? If you go back to say 2005 it was majority Black. Now it's like 5%. Foggier than most of The City. Glen Park BART runs near it. It's not too far from Golden Gate Park and a number of Muni Bus Lines run from there to the Park. A Clipper Card Day Pass for Muni is $5 bucks. At first I thought you said Sunnydale. That's a whole other ball of wax. It could have been shorts and t-shirt temps, or the breeze might turn it into a long pants/sweatshirt day, but I brought a jacket for the evening. I used ALL OF IT. Best advice going to the bay area is be prepared for anything. If that fog rolls in, it's COLD, PERIOD. Re: Who are the SF peeps here - Buzz - 09-28-2023 I was born at Sutter & Divisidero (Lower Pacific Heights), spent my first few years on the south side of Cabrillo between 14th & 15th (Central Richmond District), basically about a strong, Tiger in his prime, seven iron away from Golden Gate Park. Based on being a native San Franciscan, I say listen to hal. I run hot, too, so when visiting my hometown, I take a few layers to be prepared for the oft changing weather. When I migrated to L.A. in the late 1960's (to go to UCLA) the S.F. weather I left behind was rarely missed. The food and culture in San Francisco is legendary. Navigation, and matriculation around The City is easy enough. Keeping your human body at a comfortable operating temperature 24/7 can be challenging. Enjoy your trip! == Re: Who are the SF peeps here - polychrome - 09-28-2023 Your Clipper card should still work. Go to the website and check the balance and you can reload it ahead of time. Prepare for fog in that area where Hardly Strictly is held. If you're using public transportation, on the way back from Hardly Strictly, catch a bus or light rail train a stop or two before where everyone gets on. Same with rideshare, get away from the crowds and the rates will be lower as well. Re: Who are the SF peeps here - jonny - 09-28-2023 70° is perfect San Francisco weather. It will not feel cool, but it will get chilly in the late afternoon and early evening. Wear layers! Re: Who are the SF peeps here - Black - 09-28-2023 vision63 wrote: I like Sunnyside. If it had been a Chicago transit card it would have expired by now, but there's no expiration date. Re: Who are the SF peeps here - Black - 09-28-2023 Thanks all. |
