Remember these iTunes phones? - decay - 09-28-2023 https://www.idropnews.com/apple-history/two-years-before-the-iphone-apple-and-motorola-made-the-original-itunes-phone/176566/ Over two years before anybody outside of Apple even knew the company was working on the iPhone, Apple partnered with Motorola to create the ROKR E1 -- the so-called “iTunes Phone.” Re: Remember these iTunes phones? - hal - 09-28-2023 um.... no, not really... Re: Remember these iTunes phones? - mikebw - 09-28-2023 Oh yeah I do. I was looking into a replacement for my first phone (a flip model) and the ROKR must have been a model on display at the time. Re: Remember these iTunes phones? - ztirffritz - 09-28-2023 When Jobs introduced those you could see him visibly cringe. He HATED that phone. Re: Remember these iTunes phones? - Rolando - 09-29-2023 I was using a Motorola RAZR at the time, and wondered why they did not make that the iTunes Phone. I also remember a website that made 3D Rendered mockups of iTunes phones, usually flip or slider phones (remember those?) I thought they would have been big sellers. Re: Remember these iTunes phones? - zachdog - 09-29-2023 I still have my SLVR iTunes phone. It was a tiny soap-bar, based on the proportions of the RAZR, and loads better than the first-gen ROKR. It was a good phone, but not a good camera and not a good iPod. Re: Remember these iTunes phones? - Lux Interior - 09-29-2023 I remember. |
