I just saw her on Soundstage. How annoying can you get? Every little vocal trick she tried was just awful. About 1 song out of 5 approached having a melody. She would get the anguished look on her face that didn't begin to match the lyrics. She milked the crowd with a yodel where she took shortcuts and pretty much faked it. She absolutley butchered Over The Rainbow.

There are some pop singers who use vocal tricks that drive me insane with
repulsion. Sara McLachlan and Mariah Carey quickly come to mind. And Britney
Spears. I've never heard much of Jewel, but what little I had heard didn't
interest me at all. I'm sorry you lost some time out of your life listening to her.
