For a paper I'm writing, I'm stipulating that people are the most important thing.
I thought about trying to prove it, but I think it will be easier to simply stipulate.

I don't think you need to prove it. The paper simply needs to say "Please look our your nearest window for a few minutes".

I don't mean to sound anthrocentric, but, imagine how you would live you life, in a day to day sense, if all of a sudden you woke up and found yourself to be the last human being on Earth. Our social relationships are what drives our every action (for the most part).
