Is anyone using the Wyze v4 camera? - RAMd®d - 04-17-2024

I just got an email about today, and it looks pretty feature-rich for the money.

So I was hoping to be regaled with anecdotes of hands-on experiences.

It’s brand new; just came out last month.

I finally set up and am testing out two Wyze cam v3 cameras. Hard to complain at the price point (2 for $40), but I am finding it a little frustrating with false notifications and a lot of "No video at the selected time" after getting a notification.

I thought I remembered reading something negative about the v4, but now I can't find it among all the great reviews.Smile

If it supported RTSP, I might consider it. Otherwise a hard pass.

I also get a lot of those "No video at the selected time" results after a notification. I keep thinking there is some adjustment that can be made but have never found one. It is indeed frustrating.

The No video at the selected time IS frustrating. Sometimes I can reload the app and can see the events but it's hit and miss and takes way too much time.

Yeah, it's frustrating because most everything else about it works pretty well. When exploring for answers, some users mention to be sure to use High Performance SD cards, which I have, so that can't be the only issue.

Maybe a request or two could get MKBHD to review it.

I'm still looking for a bird house cam ...

I've been hitchhiking off of others, watching the Cal Falcons, for one.

I think there's a clutch of four, but I've only seen two at any one time, missing out on the comings and goings of the parents.

I think the ~24th is supposed to be the Hatch Days.
