Re: Gettysburg undress - Ted King - 04-18-2024

I didn't focus on Trump because he was just going through the motions. I saw a guy right behind him yawn and chit chat with a girl. I saw a bunch of people look cold and not really seeming to pay much attention at all. (Not that I blame them. Geez Trump's speech was :bunny:.)

Then up pops a My Pillow ad that took up more of the screen than Trump's speech video. Mike hugging his pillow. 80% off!!!

Pathetic.

Re: Gettysburg undress - PeterB - 04-18-2024

Someone on YouTube was kind enough to write out his words:

"Where our Union was saved fie the immortal heroes at Gettysburg. Gettysburg, what an unbelievable... battle that was, the battle of Gettysburg, what an unbelievable. I mean it was so much, and so interesting, and so vicious and horrible, and so beautiful in so many different ways, it it represented such a big portion of the success of this country. Gettysburg, wow. I go to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to look and to watch. And, uh, the statement of Robert E. Lee who's no longer in favor, did you ever notice that? No longer in favor. Never fight uphill, me boys, never fight uphill. They were fighting uphill, he said, 'wow, that was a big mistake.' He lost his great General. And uh, they were fighting never fight uphill me boys! But it was too late."

Edit: where is Sarah Cooper when you need her?

Edit #2... apparently this has been meme-worthy for a few days now. One example:

I loved the comment made by at least one of the YouTubers who posted the video, that he sounds like a kid in elementary school who had to do an oral book report of a book he didn't read.
