That amazing teacher who was teaching a student how to think - sekker - 05-13-2024 ... About whether statements by JK Rowling were transphobic or not. Warren Smith. Well, turns out he was FIRED over it. https://twitter.com/WTSmith17/status/1790081368040305010 His firing will open up all sorts of doors I hope. Re: That amazing teacher who was teaching a student how to think - SDGuy - 05-14-2024 How dare he teach students how to think critically - that is not part of the curriculum... So... the whole situation may require some re-evaluation... I agree with Speedy that it's best to withhold judgment for now. So we may never hear the full story, unfortunately. g= Re: That amazing teacher who was teaching a student how to think - Janit - 05-14-2024 Hopefully more will come out. He is still teaching part-time at Emerson, so he's in the Boston area. I would really like to know where he got fired from. I took a look at his youtube channel. His small films are intriguing but basically incoherent. And something about his vibe is off for me. Sorry, I was hoping to avoid a Musk visit - tends to polarize the discussion. Re: That amazing teacher who was teaching a student how to think - sekker - 05-14-2024 PeterB wrote: All fair. Even if he 'staged' that video, I see nothing wrong in it per se. But it definitely set off a lot of JKR haters. |
