Does eBay use pigeon post? - voodoopenguin - 03-04-2007 Just got the confirmation email from eBay to say that I have bid on an item and am the highest bidder at present. That's good except the auction ended about a week ago and they have already sent the message that I was successful, the invoice and the confirmation of the PayPal payment and that was all within an hour of the auction ending. This isn't the first time these delays in eBay messages have happened but a week is a bit of a record, usually it's up to 3 days. I know of no other delays from other companies, Amazon etc. come through virtually immediately. If these emails are generated automatically where have they been for a week? And why didn't they send me a postcard? Re: Does eBay use pigeon post? - Paul F. - 03-04-2007 That's nothing... A few months ago, I got a "Bid Confirmation" email from eBay on an item I had bid on, won, and recieved EIGHTEEN MONTHS AGO. Suspecting some sort of fraud, I emailed eBay (through their page, of course). They said, in effect, "just a glitch... ignore it". Re: Does eBay use pigeon post? - hal - 03-05-2007 IT's an email issue I';m thinking - not an ebay issue. Re: Does eBay use pigeon post? - Z - 03-05-2007 Well... if it's an african swallow... Re: Does eBay use pigeon post? - DavidS - 03-05-2007 [quote Z]Well... if it's an african swallow... But African swallows are non-migratory. ![]() |
