CS 3 coming March 27 - jdc - 03-05-2007 from macminute Adobe Creative Suite 3 to ship March 27th March 5 - 12:07 EST Adobe plans to launch its new Creative Suite 3 software at a special event in New York City on March 27, reports Macworld UK. The event will be webcast live at 3:30 p.m. ET. "The long-awaited suite of creative tools is expected to kick-start Mac Pro sales, and will be the first release of CS3 that is optimised to run natively on Intel-based Macs," notes the story. "Adobe calls the 27 March announcement 'the largest software release in Adobe's 25-year history.'" edit: how is it that macworld UK has this on their front page, but its nowhere on the macworld US page? are they 2 separate things? Re: CS 3 coming March 27 - jimbrady - 03-05-2007 Damn. I sure was enjoying using Photoshop CS3 for free. Re: CS 3 coming March 27 - papercup - 03-05-2007 Q: When will the Adobe Photoshop CS3 beta expire? A. The Photoshop CS3 beta will expire soon after the launch of Photoshop CS3 in spring 2007. Hmmm...since I have been working exclusively in PSCS3 beta, and upon release the beta will cease to work I either need to: 1. Buy the CS3 as soon as available. or 2. Stop working in PSCS3 beta now, as some of the PSCS3 beta features are discarded when opened the files in CS2, and slowly convert PSCS3 beta files before the beta stops working. Then I can buy the CS3 suite once the dust settles, and I see the value and/or buggy-ness of the release. I really want new hardware and CS3 at the same time, on a new machine I can slowly bring into the fold. Another pain, either way. I I wonder how many people who were complaining... - RAMd®d - 03-05-2007 ...about the lack of an Intel/UB version will either get it right away or buy the Intel Mac they said they wouldn't buy until a UB version of CS was available. Re: CS 3 coming March 27 - Chupa Chupa - 03-05-2007 So anyone want to guess when it will ship? Re: CS 3 coming March 27 - papercup - 03-05-2007 The Photoshop beta forum is full of issues/bugs, some of which are still being addressed daily by the Adobe QA. This leads me to believe they are a bit away from final build, or look for a quick release full of minor annoyances. Re: CS 3 coming March 27 - laarree - 03-05-2007 CS3! CS3! CS3! Hee hee hee! Re: CS 3 coming March 27 - JoeM - 03-05-2007 Gosh, I was going to buy CS2 this week with my new Mac. Now maybe I'll see if I get a free update first. Would love to have CS2 and CS3 for one price ![]() Re: CS 3 coming March 27 - vision63 - 03-05-2007 The beta is pretty solid on the iMac Intel I have it installed on. Most of my plug-ins aren't universal however. You can still use them but you have to tell PS3 to open in Rosetta which defeats the "very substantial" speed increase. So I run it without 3rd party plug-ins. But for the legions that use PS as a tool to fashion web pages and other composite purposes, it's disappointing that the Imageready features still haven't been folded into Photoshop itself. It's a pain to switch back and forth. [edit] In reality, I can't speak for the legions, I can only speak for myself. Re: CS 3 coming March 27 - Zoidberg - 03-05-2007 Whoo-hoo, time to get a MacBook Pro, eh? http://www.macrumors.com/2007/03/05/adobe-to-ship-cs3-march-27th/ |
