I saw the site which indicates that ipod video is within fifty days or so of the average shelf life.
I figure with iphone on the horizon, the current 5.5 version ipod will be around a bit longer than that, or at least that is my story.
With the audible $100 discount a 30 can be had for around $160 and an 80 for about $240
I am already an audible subscriber, so that is not new money out of pocket for me.

can't help you here; i'm in the same audible boat about upgrading my palm z31 to a Palm T|X. i will be getting the new palm and i keep thinking i'll be dropping my audible subscription. but, i like audio books (great when i exercise) and the regular price makes me choke. still, do i want to commit for another year. decisions, decisions...
