Mountain Dew shelf life - troywellbuilt - 03-10-2007 I just found 2 six packs of 16 oz Mountain Dews in the BEAUTIFUL thick, return-for-deposit glass bottles in my basement. I bought them about 12 years ago in KY. I opened one up - plenty of fizz and no foul smell. A little cloudy sediment of some sort on the bottom. Should I drink these?? If they weren't in these great bottles I'd toss them without thought, but drinking from these bottles brings the Dew experience to another level. Re: Mountain Dew shelf life - Filliam H. Muffman - 03-10-2007 Hmm, bottled soda is not on the list I found. http://forums.macresource.com/read/1/245327 I would think that it should be fairly safe to drink as long as it has plenty of fizz and there is no rust under the cap. Re: Mountain Dew shelf life - Paul F. - 03-10-2007 You'll know after the first swig if it's still good or not... Trust me.. One of the "adventures" that gave me this reputation of mine was a decade old diet coke. I don't know if sugared soda does the same thing (since sugar IS a preservative), but diet soda DEFINITELY goes bad. BLECH! Take a swig... let us know if you don't spew at the porcelin altar. Re: Mountain Dew shelf life - Filliam H. Muffman - 03-10-2007 I guess "shelf life" and "food expiration" are like a bat signal for Paul F. All right, here is the clue: can't you just put fresh Dew into these beautiful bottles? Re: Mountain Dew shelf life - DaviDC. - 03-11-2007 It'll tickle yore innards! |
