NWS misses DST - GrumpyOldMan - 03-12-2007 I live in Austin. An alert came across the TV screen saying to tune to the local weather channel. On that channel there was a National Weather Service warning about severe thunderstorms, both text and computer-generated voice, but the time was off by an hour. It doesn't count if they are based in Arizona or Hawaii. Who would use ST all year? I could see Zulu all year, but ST? A buddy of mine, I think he's in Indiana, doesn't make the switch. There are many other parts of the planet which deal with time differently. Lots of businesses only work in ST. That way they other businesses that deal with them always know what time they're running on. Otherwise it can get confusing who's doing what during what time. |
