I am happy to report that I need to replace my wardrobe. - cbelt3 - 04-27-2025 After a year and a half with a continuous glucose monitor (*), I am.. Down 40 lbs + Down to a pants size 38 from a high of 46 (have not been that size for 15 years) Double chin is now 1 1/4 chin Now.. should I take my few suits in to have them tailored ? Or just replace them when I need a suit (Weddings and funerals..) ? (*) This includes new pills for my type 2 diabetes, but NOT Ozempic et al. It's all about feedback.... Think I'm hungry. Look at Apple watch. Nope, I'm not hungry. Re: I am happy to report that I need to replace my wardrobe. - special - 04-27-2025 Congratulations. One piece of advice: do not throw away current wardrobe. get desiccant packs and vacuum bags. you never know when you may need it again. Re: I am happy to report that I need to replace my wardrobe. - mrbigstuff - 04-27-2025 if you can find a good tailor, you could ask them what would be the fee for a suit. maybe a bulk price. at some point, it is just less expensive to buy new, used in your size. tailoring at that level may be more like making from new cloth, without the cloth expense, of course. Re: I am happy to report that I need to replace my wardrobe. - Forrest - 04-27-2025 Congrats on the weight loss. Re: I am happy to report that I need to replace my wardrobe. - JoeM - 04-27-2025 Congratulations! That's a great accomplishment. Yes I second not discarding your "fat clothes", although I know many dietitians advise you to dump them. Years back I went from my 235Ibs, sit on my fadass and work 24/7 weight to my normal weight of 170lbs. I donated all my clothes vowing I'd never let myself gain it back. 9 months later I wound up tearing ligaments in my spine, retiring because of being laid up, and spending the next 3 years in rehab. My weight went up to 193 and I had no clothes I could comfortably fit into. I wound up wishing I had hung on to a few of my clothes. Re: I am happy to report that I need to replace my wardrobe. - Rick-o - 04-27-2025 Wait! Won't you need those extra lbs. for the upcoming depression? J/K, (I hope). Congrats! It's a monumental achievement to lose weight, in most situations. Re: I am happy to report that I need to replace my wardrobe. - August West - 04-27-2025 Way to go, Belty! Re: I am happy to report that I need to replace my wardrobe. - rz - 04-27-2025 Good job. Will add my ditto to not getting rid of everything. My wife lost a bunch of weight several years ago by run/walking. Then she had ankle issues, which caused her to fall a few times, which led to shoulder issues. After several surgeries and no exercise, she’s back to where she was. I heard her lament recently that she wishes she hadn’t gotten rid of so many clothes because she can’t find certain things she used to have. Re: I am happy to report that I need to replace my wardrobe. - special - 04-27-2025 make sure you get a new belt too.
