I don't keep multiple MR tabs open, but do venture back and forth between forums (fora?). Since they look identical, if a question pops into my mind while I'm viewing one forum, I'm not likely to notice the difference. In fact, the only times I've f'ed up in that regard, I don't even know it until I wonder why my thread didn't post. That's when I decide to check the other forum.
I know it shouldn't be necessary, but a simple "Are you sure?" box might not be a bad idea. I'm clearly not the only person who has erred this way.
At least I don't just put a . in the subject line, only to see the inevitable .. and ... and follow-ups of every punctuation mark on a keyboard.
Now that's annoying.

Once you click on "New Topic", the window you're in to compose the message gives no indication of which forum you're in, so even if you're thinking about double checking before hitting "Post message" there's no easy way to check that you're going to post where intended.

Cmd-A, Cmd-C, Back, Check, proceed as appropriate, Cmd-V.
It may not be easy, but it's possible.
