... this is absolutely insane. It's not just a war on science, it's going to devastate the economy, since these grants are a major driver of economic growth and prosperity.
Edit: I notice that the memo they received did not give any justification, nor did it say who exactly is behind the order. Apparently we are indeed living in Kafkaesque times.

How else are they going to pay for tax cuts for Elon, Jeff, Mark, etc.
I wanted to add Donald to the list but I realized he never paid taxes so the cuts are not for him anyway.

Also, these cuts, if they save any money at all (and that’s a real “if”) won’t be more than a tiny fraction of the revenue loss from more tax cuts slanted toward the rich.
But as a party, fiscal responsibility is of no concern to Republicans when they are in power.
