Can someone please summarize the login problems and what to do about them? - Black - 06-26-2025

I have only been able to log in on one device. One just won't take the credentials, and one has me stuck with an inoperative login of an old account I'd rather not use.... I tried logging out 97 times, got the success message each time, but was still logged in.

I had to change my password. using the "forgot password" link.

If you've gotten this far in any one browser then you don't have the permissions/authorization bug that's plaguing others.

For those in the permissions/authorization bug camp, create a new account and either start fresh with that new account or use the new account to PM the admin (troy.lynch) to troubleshoot the old/migrated one.
[ Thanks, Troy!! Angel ]

You probably just need to delete the macresource.com cookies in the other browsers and log in again.

Sounds like cookies on both.

Just for testing can you log into that device in a guest or newly created user account, and try using the same browser you were using when you had issues.   There should be no old cookies from anywhere in that clean environment, and if you can log in to the forum like that then it's pretty clear that there's no issue with the device, browser, or internet connection, and it's due to some saved state in the user account / browser that you were having issues with.

Garaboncias= Rolando?

Thought I saw people saying here and there that cookies didn't help, hence my desire to have it summarized in one place. Also, couldn't figure out how to do a site-specific cookie purge in Chrome-- not interested in resetting every site. Seems like there should be a way?

On my phone I get "Authorization Code Mismatch." Trying to use the same pw that I'm logged in with on desktop now.

Deleted cookies in phone, still locked out.

Per Google AI:

To clear site-specific data (like cookies and cache) in Chrome, navigate to Chrome's settings, then to Privacy and security, and finally to Site settings. From there, you can view and manage data stored across all sites, or search for a specific site to clear its data.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  1. Open Chrome Settings: Click the three dots (More) in the top right corner of the browser window and select "Settings".
  2. Go to Privacy and security: Navigate to "Privacy and security" in the left-hand menu.
  3. Access Site settings: Click on "Site settings".
  4. View permissions and data: Select "View permissions and data stored across sites".
  5. Locate and clear data:
    • You can either browse the list of sites or use the search bar to find the specific site you want to clear data for.
    • Expand the site entry if needed to see subdomains.
    • Click the trash can icon next to the site to clear its data.
  6. Alternative Method (for clearing all site data): You can also go directly to the site data settings by entering
    Code:
    chrome://settings/content/all
    in the address bar.

This is what I did and then I was able to reset my password and login.

My problem was the need to reset the password. I have no access to my old email account. So I had to create a new account, using my old handle (from the original forum, pre-macresource, that I changed because I forgot that password).
So back to dk61 from dk62.

I have the same problems as Black.

I can get in on my M1 Mini, but not my MBP.

Resetting the password is not an option.  I already did that to get in on my Mini.  Doing so again to gain access on my MBP would mean losing access on my Mini.

Are you using Safari? Did you clear the cookies and cache? If your using Safari, did you see my reply above to Black, Micheal said it worked for him, maybe it would work for you.
