For the last sixty years, I've done everything one-handed. I never really gave it a thought, if it needed doing, I did it. I won more than one bet weightlifting and doing one-arm pushups.
In all that time, I never suffered an injury - until last week.
Now I'm in a brace, and an orthopedic surgeon said to get an MRI. The X-rays at least showed nothing broken, but there is definitely something going on with the soft tissue in my wrist. Even doing the 12-oz curl hurts. I'm hoping it isn't too serious since not having my one working hand will really make life a PITA while it heals.
Oh, and how did I manage to hurt myself? Would you believe throwing away a toilet at the dump. As soon as I tossed it I felt a pop and pain.
Long overdue but still not needed.

Sorry. You probably tore a muscle. Hopefully, that is all. A lot of things like that happen when you don't expect it so there's really no way to avoid it.
I did that (tore a muscle in my wrist) many years ago. Mine didn't involve a toilet.
It was lifting one of those old 10MB multi-platter disk packs (about 14" in diameter and about 9" high from the old days) that I kept in my office as a novelty.It will heal, but will really suck for at least a month, especially when it's your only hand.

So the only functional hand is in a brace? I hope you have someone to take care of you. Good luck with brushing your teeth and using the object that caused the injury.
