Apple is brilliant. - Kramerica - 03-13-2007 The Fifth Avenue Apple Store is an amazing design, but this potential just slipped by me. Simple, but brilliant idea, in my opinion. http://www.macrumors.com/2007/03/12/apple-iphone-ad-on-the-nyc-5th-avenue-store/ Re: Apple is brilliant. - iaJim - 03-13-2007 Awesome! That should turn some heads! Re: Apple is brilliant. - mikebw - 03-14-2007 Um, how is this different from every other building in the world that has giant ads plastered on the sides? If they were really going to break some ground, their glass panels would actually be able to display moving images, like a giant video screen, but perfectly transparent when turned off. Re: Apple is brilliant. - Kramerica - 03-14-2007 It's different, because the signage is translucent, and will light up at night, as well as covering the entire side of the structure, and even gives them the ability to mimic any of their cube shaped packaging like the old iPod box, iSight box, etc. Not only that, but the ads could be placed on the inside, which, and I'm just speculating on this, might allow them freedom from signage rules. Re: Apple is brilliant. - mikebw - 03-14-2007 I see. Re: Apple is brilliant. - chas_m - 03-14-2007 Steve designed that building. Thus, Steve is brilliant. Re: Apple is brilliant. - Jp! - 03-14-2007 My first thought was/is "It's just another big ad". Re: Apple is brilliant. - mikebw - 03-14-2007 Apparently, we lack "vision". Re: Apple is brilliant. - Kramerica - 03-14-2007 Well it IS another big ad, but I bet in person, at night, it will be (literally) brilliant! |
