Oh C'mon! Laser hair growth helmet for $400 @ Costco? - steve... - 07-05-2025 $130 Off! Where have I been? Are they selling tin foil hats too (I didn't search)? Do these work? Call me skeptical. Costco ![]() RE: Oh C'mon! Laser hair growth helmet for $400 @ Costco? - RAMd®d - 07-05-2025 This sounds like snake oil. Considering lasers are used to remove hair, it seems unlikely they'd be used to grow hair. It does seem like using low-powered lasers for hair growth is a thing. Whether or not it's success is a thing, I dunno. I'd like to see the science that supports this application. Maybe it warms and awakens sleepy follicles, lol? Otherwise, it would be truly sad to see Costco hawking snake oil. They probably sell laser hair removal kit as well. RE: Oh C'mon! Laser hair growth helmet for $400 @ Costco? - RonT (aka Ombligo) - 07-05-2025 Research has shown that red light therapy stimulates hair follicles to grow hair. So it isn't really a laser, rather LED lights of a specific frequency. However, whether this product is worth the price is another question. RE: Oh C'mon! Different parts of the spectrum have different effects. My dermatologist said that not many people respond to the red light, though. You have to have that sensitivity built in to have it make much of a difference. On the other hand, check out syntonics for how the automatic nervous system responds to specific colors of light. My father, a developmental/behavioral optometrist used optometric syntonics in his practice for years. RE: Oh C'mon! Laser hair growth helmet for $400 @ Costco? - rz - 07-05-2025 I gave up and started shaving my head 20 years ago. I always used to say that if I won the lottery, I'd get hair replacement surgery. At this point, I wouldn't. RE: Oh C'mon!
