I caved in... Reese's Peanut Butter Cup... YUM... - spacescape - 04-02-2007

After my slice of deli meat lovers pizza, submarine sandwich and probably the worst weekend ever... I couldn't resist that Reese's Peanut Butter Cup that was staring at me in the vending machine.

So worth the calories and probably not good for my borderline high cholesterol.

Did you have to mention those, they're so good? I've lost 6lbs and now this. >Big Grin<

TRADER JOE'S HAS PEANUT BUTTER CUPS? Oh man. We have an old Jacobsen's about 5-10 minutes from me (closed down a few years back) and Trader Joe's is taking 3/4's of the bottom level. Can hardly wait!!!

They changed the formula? I hadn't noticed. Or maybe they did it just recently? I don't eat them all the time, and haven't had one for awhile, but I do love them.

Speaking of changing the formula, I remember when Coca Cola did it back in the very late 70s and 1980. For awhile, you might get either the old sugar formula or the new corn syrup formula.

Well, the gourmet market up the street now sells 12 ounce bottles (real, glass, Coke bottles!) of Coca Cola hecho en Mexico, with sugar.

Ahhhhh......worth the $1.19. Yes, that's $1.19 for a single 12 ounce bottle. But man....

Hmmm. Do the trader joes versions use natural peanut butter? I might check them out. One thing I really miss is the older crunchy Reese's pb cups. Why did they stop making them?

Changed when they started marketing the jars of PB, much sweeter, much smoother, more oil, less salt. Really ruined the taste for me. Also domestic chocolate has changed to not melt as easy, so they can ship to the desert countries, it is like plastic now.

$1.19!! Holy BatCrap!
One perk about living in NorMexico, aka Southern California, is Mexican Coca Cola is cheap here, about 50 cents a bottle by the 24 bottle wooden case, plus $2.40 deposit.

elmo3, are you saying that the glass bottles are worth it because they're in the glass? or because they have sugar? (or something else?)

If the sugar...what does it *normally* have when made in the USA?

I believe they mainly use corn syrup in the states.

I think in some markets you can get sugar sweetened Coke during Passover which begins at sundown tonight- so check your local grocery stores!

Not a Coke drinker, so take this info with a grain of salt! Smile
