How did I live without the "Multiple Speakers" option in iTunes?! - laarree - 04-08-2007 I finally got around to upgrading the firmware in my Airport Express//Airtunes thingie, thus unveiling the "Multiple Speakers" option in iTunes. My god, how did I live without it? Such a simple, lovely thing. I've got Trent Reznor screaming about something on both my computer speakers and wirelessly over in my living room thru the Express unit connected to my stereo system. Scream, Trent, scream! (but don't wake up the neighbors pleeze...) Re: How did I live without the "Multiple Speakers" option in iTunes?! - mattkime - 04-08-2007 >>I've got Trent Reznor screaming I'm pretty sure that Trent Reznor screams all by himself. Re: How did I live without the "Multiple Speakers" option in iTunes?! - deckeda - 04-08-2007 Very cool. This is something I thought they should have had at inception. Maybe he wants some ice cream? [quote deckeda]Very cool. This is something I thought they should have had at inception. I agree. Re: How did I live without the "Multiple Speakers" option in iTunes?! - C(-)ris - 04-08-2007 Does the audio play exactly the same time or is their an echo. I thought about getting an AE for each of my rooms and then setting up a small RS amp and a set of those $40 outpust speakers. But I would definitely want the audio to all be playing at the same time. Re: How did I live without the "Multiple Speakers" option in iTunes?! - laarree - 04-08-2007 I didn't notice any echo. It would be pretty lame if the audio was out of sync on different sets of speakers. But I've been using it for such a short time, I can't say this with complete confidence. I'm sorely tempted to get another Airport Express unit for the other side of my apartment so I can hear the same music throughout my entire home. Re: How did I live without the "Multiple Speakers" option in iTunes?! - mikebw - 04-08-2007 Pretty cool. I wonder if you can do the same thing using the AppleTV in addition? That would be sweet, control the music from the TV, but it plays throughout the house on every airport express? Anyone know if that's possible? Re: How did I live without the "Multiple Speakers" option in iTunes?! - DaviDC. - 04-08-2007 There's no echo at all! I've got an Airport Express in the living room connected to the stereo & LOVE it! Now I want to get another one & an extra set of powered speakers for the kitchen. Re: How did I live without the "Multiple Speakers" option in iTunes?! - TiUser - 04-08-2007 Am I missing something? I only have "Computer" and "Living Room" as separate options in my iTunes. Where and how does one get the option for "Multiple Speakers"? Re: How did I live without the "Multiple Speakers" option in iTunes?! - john-o - 04-08-2007 And here's another question for you all: I have a wireless network, with a APExpress set up next to my stereo. Problem is, I don't have AP in my Mac Pro, so the only way I've found to send iTunes music to the stereo is to enable library sharing, then have the laptop load the Mac Pro's music, and send that to the stereo. Is there no way to accomplish this without having an AirPort card in my main machine? I'm guessing not, but hoping somebody's figured out a solution! |
