This is an 802.11G (108Mbps-enhanced) wireless router that comes with a high-gain antenna, a QoS engine pre-configured to give priority to games (but generally handles networking better than most consumer routers), and four gigabit ethernet LAN ports.
I also happen to think it looks much nicer than other routers.
$80 is the lowest price I have seen. While it's more expensive than most, it has a more powerful CPU plus the other features, especially gigabit.

Is "Run You Fools" a synonym for "DEAL:" nowadays? I'm confused, but I thought RYF had to be a bit more outlandish than this, with the potential for an unlikely fulfillment of dozens of orders, thus laying the ground for a new cult to be born (a la the Firelight affair).

Gotta agree with jimbrady on this one. A wireless router for $80 isn't really in the RYF category. Especially since you can get a Buffalo for $25 http://forums.macresource.com/read/1/282098
btw, is gigabit really needed for a home setup on DSL or Cable?

From what I understand, a "RUN YOU FOOLS" should be declared when the deal is so good (regardless of the likelyhood of it being a price mistake) that you'd buy it even if you didn't need it., or if it's substantially better than previous prices (even if it doesn't motivate you to buy it). The latter may be more subjective . All this is just my opinion of course.
P. S. - One litmus test for this particular deal would be to check the eBay price? Of course, not everyone who'd want one would buy it off of eBay, opting rather to buy it at a retailer.

My apologies. My transgression has been corrected.
However, if you want a router with gigabit and robust QoS, you won't find any others for $80 or less. Nor will you normally find this one for less than $100. Usually it's $125 or more.

No apologies needed. Besides, it's not like we're the keepers of the 'RYF' flame. And anyway, it's a very good deal (being that it goes for anywhere from $100-$130 on eBay shipped).

fry will have it for $10 less in 2 weeks =)
i do think the new dlinks look nicer than most...netgears are still the best
