local craigslist has an airport express but w/o any sotware disc, namely the airport express assistant.
according to the apple site i need airport express assistant to set-up the airport express w/airtunes

is this accurate?
i'm running 10.4.7 but maybe this is the time for me to finally get to 10.4.9
any thoughts would be helpful

You already have the airport setup assistant, it's included in OS X and is on every Mac. It's in your utilities folder.

Same software sets up any Airport. You're good to go.
