Glance.net: Interesting desktop share tool - tuqqer - 05-16-2007

Been playing around this morning with Glance, a new desktop sharing tool that is so simple to set up, it should've been invented by Apple.

You sign up for a free 1-week trial, download a small app, start it, and then it gives you a password and URL to pass on to someone. That someone then goes to the URL, enters the password, and voilĂ , your screen shows up immediately on their screen.

Could be really handy in showing someone how to do a trick in InDesign, Entourage, etc. Or to see how your mom's mucking up her Mac. There are probably more ideas, but in the mean time, it's fun to play with.

Too expensive for casual use, but I can imagine that with a few different emails, you could do a number of free trials now and again.

Looks good--Thanks--might help when teching Dad's MacBook

FYI-Leopard iChat has screen sharing capability.

Ummm... you have seen Leopard's iChat, right?

EDIT: That's what I get for loading the screen and not posting for 15 minutes.

Yes, Leopard's future iChat capability may make this obsolete. Still, a fun way to play with your Mac until then.
