Help: No Audio on iDVD Project - bbkim - 05-16-2007

I made a movie on iDVD from the iMovie file. However, audio is missing from the final work. Can someone help me?

I made a movie from iMovie. When I did "Share -> iDVD", it gave me a rendering error during burning process. So, I brought the iMovie project into iDVD from iDVD by selecting iMovie project under "Movie" selections. Then I made a disk image. No rendering error and the burning process was completed. However, when I mounted the image and played with the "DVD Player" no sound!!! The DVD project played the audio, but the audio is missing from the burned disk image.

Any suggestiong?

Thank you.

My suggestion is "you should have paid attention to the error in iMovie, looked up what was really the problem, and corrected it then instead of working around it. Now you've wasted a crapload of time and effort."

If you'd supply the details, perhaps one of us could help you track down/fix the problem.

OK. Here is what happens when I directly "share" from iMovie. It opens the iDVD and I added few more pictures in the drop zones. I choose to create an disk image. iDVD starts to render menus. My project has 3 menus. At the end of 3/3 menu rendering, I get an error message saying "Error during rendering/encoding - There was an error during rendering/encoding of the menus/slideshows. Burning process canceled." I don't have any slideshow, and I don't know why it causes the error.

Can anyone help?

Thank you.

I don't know but here are some things you could try...

you could try it with a different menu just to see if it matters. Or without the photos you are putting in the drop zones- maybe one is corrupt or something...

you could try sharing the movie out to a DV file (quicktime full quality) then dragging that into iDVD.

If all else fails, you could try using a previous version of iDVD. I had a project once that for unknown reasons was failing under, i think, iDVD5, yet burned fine under iDVD4.

Good luck
