DId Google yank the 'no ads' search already? - Jp! - 05-24-2007 http://forums.macresource.com/read/1/297549/297640#msg-297640 I get ads, now. Pity, I liked ad-less Google the best. (and no ads in the search results) Re: DId Google yank the 'no ads' search already? - michaelb - 05-24-2007 I don't seem to get ads although maybe I didn't test it correctly. Re: DId Google yank the 'no ads' search already? - papercup - 05-24-2007 I don't understand WHY they would yank the ads. Was it a proxy-Google by a 3rd party or what? Thats how Google makes money. I think. Re: DId Google yank the 'no ads' search already? - Jp! - 05-24-2007 I do get them now. Re: DId Google yank the 'no ads' search already? - Jp! - 05-24-2007 Well, to understand why, it might have been a secret/back-door query used only by google employees and once the cat was out of the bag, they changed it. See the video in tugger's original post I link(ed) to above. It shows the differences. I WAS using it that way, too. But now it's changed (back). Re: DId Google yank the 'no ads' search already? - michaelb - 05-24-2007 strangely it seems to depend on what you search for. Searching for "keen sandals" (since I am wearing them) gets tons of ads. Searching for "ipod shuffle reset" (since my partner is having trouble with her shuffle) gets me no ads still today. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ipod+shuffle+reset |
