When did "brown" become "chocolate"? - miK. - 09-15-2007

I swear I have heard someone describe something brown as "chocolate"
about 3 times in the last week. What gives? A beautiful chocolate leather sofa...
Maybe they think since (just about) everyone loves chocolate, that you MUST
love this "chocolate" item too...

Others:

• If I hear my boss tell me I need to "engage" a co-worker again (as in work with)
• The overuse of the word "literally" (even worse when pronounced LIT-TRA-LEE)
• The dreaded "issues" continues, and I continue ask the person using it point blank
"So what is the PROBLEM?" :-)

Feel free to add some of your own!

Brown is not Chocolate Brown.
There is a difference.
Sky Blue is not Sea Blue.

Nor is chocolate brown necessarily poop brown.

About the same time that light brown, AKA "beige," became "ecru.'

Speaking of bad language, dangling participles really annoy me.
