Re: Can a CS3 Indesign file be saved to open in CS1 indesign? - C(-)ris - 09-27-2007 save it in the exchange format Re: Can a CS3 Indesign file be saved to open in CS1 indesign? - ka jowct - 09-27-2007 Saving "down" may not work out well, depending on whether you used features that don't work in ID CS. I keep several versions installed to avoid situations like these. Re: Can a CS3 Indesign file be saved to open in CS1 indesign? - laarree - 09-27-2007 An inx file exported from CS3 will probably not open in CS1, as ka jowct said. I have InDesign CS3, CS2 and CS installed here in my home studio for just this possible scenario. They are indeed cheap bastiges and possibly -- arrr! -- Pirates, as CS was the last version of InDesign that could be installed and used without activating over the internet. CS is therefore still very popular with many designers I know. I guess that happens sooner or later. Personally, I make my living from my expertise using Adobe software, so I cough up the bux for it. Re: Can a CS3 Indesign file be saved to open in CS1 indesign? - ka jowct - 09-28-2007 I cough up the bux, too. But I also want to have redundant installations without hassles. Given that no one except me uses my software, I don't feel guilty about the notion of resorting to certain "workarounds". I have no need for any CS3 app yet. So I am content to wait until I can install as I want and need to. |
