iMac G4 as a Digital photo frame? - bhaveshp - 09-26-2007

As low end iMac G4's are appearing on craigslist for 250-300 these days, I'm tempted to set one up as a Digital photo frame. The iMac itself is a piece of art and the 15" screen would be gorgeous crouched down.

I may set up for wireless RSS photo feed or try a mini-linux build to run without HD.

I'm mechanically-challenged to attempt a notebook conversion project. Anyone else attempt similar?

I have not attempted it, but I think it would look really cool. I always liked that form factor.

33.4W

I think that's a great idea.

In the long run, it's a lot more capable than the typical photo frame, and it *is* a work of art in its own right.

Put it on a schedule, and that 33.4W makes even less impact.
