anyone using Moneydance? - Zoidberg - 02-09-2006 I've been trying to move away from Quicken for a few versions; the last one I bought (and was using) was the 2004 edition. A friend has the latest one and says it's a pile of dog poop. I looked at a couple of possibilities, including iBank ( http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/11612 , which is a Universal Binary) and Moneydance ( http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/12094 ). I'm using Moneydance for a short bit and really like it. I've only done some rudimentary checkbooking and a few reports (easier reports on Moneydance than Quicken, at least for my needs). Proof of longevity will come when I do reconcile when I get my statement. Just a heads up, and a query to anyone using it as to their thoughts. Re: anyone using Moneydance? - shadow - 02-10-2006 I tried to make the switch from Quicken to iBank or MoneyDance ... couldn't do it. Too many features missing ... and I don't do anything other than keep tabs on a few bank accounts. On the bright side, I've been using Quicken 2006 and it seems to be running fine. Note - I've turned off all the auto-learning of payees and such under the idea, like a browser cache, it would eventually slow things down. - Shadow Re: anyone using Moneydance? - wurm - 02-10-2006 Hell, I'm still using Quicken 2003 and it does everything I need it to. Re: anyone using Moneydance? - Don C - 02-10-2006 My checkbook is in Excel. Monthly category summaries reconciliation write checks on my free checks does require hand entry and doesn't export to TurboTax. |
