Kwan bows out of Olympics - Grateful11 - 02-12-2006 I think she did the right thing. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/olympics/chi-060212kwan-story,1,7676016.story?coll=chi-news-hed Re: Kwan bows out of Olympics - Jimmypoo - 02-12-2006 She had oatmeal with Wilford Bremley? Re: Kwan bows out of Olympics - kanesa - 02-12-2006 That's too bad. I don't think she could have won the gold but she sure is pretty to watch. So graceful. Re: Kwan bows out of Olympics - bangman - 02-12-2006 I think she just wanted to be in the athlete's parade once more. Re: Kwan bows out of Olympics - Pops - 02-12-2006 Ho, hum. The Olympics started? Re: Kwan bows out of Olympics - N-OS X-tasy! - 02-12-2006 What's up with this statement by Peter Ueberroth? Said USOC chairman Peter Ueberroth: "Michelle Kwan means more to the United States Olympic Committee than maybe any athlete that has ever performed for the U.S. Olympic Committee. [Her absence] is a real loss to the United States Olympic Committee, to the United States of America and to the world, and she made a courageous decision." Re: Kwan bows out of Olympics - Silencio - 02-12-2006 "What's up with this statement by Peter Ueberroth?" Talk about over the top! That makes me want to see Emily Hughes do well even more. Re: Kwan bows out of Olympics - Carthaigh - 02-12-2006 N-OS X-tasy! She means more than Jesse Owens? Carl Lewis? Tonya Harding? Just kidding... Re: Kwan bows out of Olympics - $tevie - 02-12-2006 How many times can YOU say "United States Olympic Committee"? And yes, that statement is way over the top. Re: Kwan bows out of Olympics - Gutenberg - 02-13-2006 Michelle Kwan has a lot of class. After Sarah Hughes won the gold medal at Salt Lake, she had no idea how to mount the podium to receive her medal--she had never stood at the top. Michelle Kwan showed her how to gracefully climb the platform. Don't hold Ueberroth's comments against her--I think Ueberroth was trying--clumsily--so say how much Kwan has meant to American figure skating. She was a great help after the Nancy Kerrigan-Tonya Harding years. |
