Recommend a laptop stand for my MBP - mattkime - 11-28-2007 I was having crashing problems with my MBP but they seem much less frequent (gone?) if the machine doesn't sit flat against a surface. Who has a laptop pad/stand that they particularly like? the iRizer looks like a pretty good candidate ![]() Re: Recommend a laptop stand for my MBP - wolfcry911 - 11-28-2007 I asked for a mstand for Christmas so I can't comment on it's function, but I like the design. Re: Recommend a laptop stand for my MBP - Spiff - 11-28-2007 I like and use... http://www.roadtools.com/ My dad likes it a lot, too. Re: Recommend a laptop stand for my MBP - wms - 11-28-2007 The Matias people make great products and have come out with an incredible 'Portable' stand that is pretty cool looking as well... both the iRizer and the iFold are from www.matias.ca ![]() ![]() Re: Recommend a laptop stand for my MBP - Buzz - 11-28-2007 for convenience, I second the roadtools podium and travel pads, as they're light weight, rugged, and do their job well. for a more permanent location, such as at home or office, I found a generic, house brand, metal riser stand for under $20 on sale at ChumpUSA that has a couple of heat exchangers underneath that does a magnificent job of cooling, though while it's too big, rigid, and heavy to easily travel with, it's silent and sucks the heat out of a laptop better than any other passive stand I've seen. can't find it on ChumpUSA's website to link, but PM me and I'll send you photos if interested. Re: Recommend a laptop stand for my MBP - spearmint - 11-28-2007 At home I just elevated the backend with a mouse pad and solved my heating problem. Not neat and good looking like these stands but works. I think these stands are way, way expensive for some plastic that probably costs pennies to make. Yeah I am cheap and broke, a bad combination resulting in desperate measures. Re: Recommend a laptop stand for my MBP - brianlmoon - 11-29-2007 Coincidentally, I just ordered two of the mstand by Rain Design. Saw them at the local Mac shop and they looked really nice. I was using the Macally stand, but it did not allow for access to my CD slot and does not work with my new MacBook Pro. The new rev does not open as wide and the first rev. So, I have to prop up the stand taking up valuable desk space with risers and at home, a block of wood =/ |
