what to expect from the new MBPs next year? - bazookaman - 12-02-2007 I'm ready to dump my G5 and move to a laptop. I'd prefer an MBP but I hear they will be new next year. Or at least have the new Intel chip. What else can we expect from the new versions? Re: what to expect from the new MBPs next year? - onthedownlow - 12-02-2007 ...I hope dual-hard drive options. That is my number one wish. ...I know there are retro-fit options now for this...but I would love it to be a native feature. Re: what to expect from the new MBPs next year? - mattkime - 12-02-2007 dual optical drives! ![]() Re: what to expect from the new MBPs next year? - GGD - 12-02-2007 "I hear they will be new next year" Next year, and... Re: what to expect from the new MBPs next year? - bazookaman - 12-02-2007 Well, I'm in a position now to not desperately need one right this second and so can wait until the next rev. Since its coming soon. Re: what to expect from the new MBPs next year? - Ken Sp. - 12-02-2007 Since the track pad has been around awhile, and since Apple has always been an innovator, I think you will see a trackpad that can do multi-touch gestures just like the iPhone, but without the LCD. I think this will give us a new external trackpad/mouse with the same ability, since the current wireless mouse doesn't match the bluetooth keyboard. I also think we will see a sub notebook that will be about twice as tall and twice as long as the iPhone that will be a true tablet with a virtual on screen keyboard with the ability to use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse/gesture device externally. I have been saying this for awhile http://forums.macresource.com/read/1/311619/311619#msg-311619 http://forums.macresource.com/read/1/272505/272509#msg-272509 http://forums.macresource.com/read/1/226582/226582#msg-226582 Re: what to expect from the new MBPs next year? - iaJim - 12-02-2007 Now that I have purchased a MBP, I hope that they don't make anything really good for a few years. ![]() Re: what to expect from the new MBPs next year? - jdc - 12-02-2007 [quote GGD]"I hear they will be new next year" Next year, and... I have a MBP 2.4Ghz/4GB/250GB (going to 320GB soon)...but desperately need dual drives (I have multiple FW and USB drives...but some practicality makes it a burden to have those connected in various places, when I do need that space and/or projects housed there). Once dual-drives come out and/or the MBP line is updated, I will update. My waiting is not really a wait-and-see type of thing. |
