Migration Assistant Question - mjgkramer - 12-12-2007 I just bought wife an Intel MacBook and she started the initial startup without having her old G3 iBook hooked as I did not have a firewire cable handy. When she got to the part where it told her to hook up the old iBook in Target mode, she quit the Migration Assistant. Yesterday I hooked the two together and ran the Migration Assistant. It grayed out the option of merging the old files into the new account on the new Mac. I told it to go ahead and do the transfer, which it did, creating a second account. She is the only one who will have an account on her new machine so it is senseless to clutter it up with the second account. Can I delete the new account without causing a problem? Re: Migration Assistant Question - cbelt3 - 12-12-2007 As long as they are both administrative accounts, yes. I had the same issue. Re: Migration Assistant Question - Spock - 12-12-2007 Keep the second account for Troubleshooting. |
