30% Off-Vornado Automatic Vortex Heater - AVTH - Vornado Whole Room Heater - BigGuynRusty - 01-18-2008

"The Vornado AVTH Heater was featured on treehugger.com as one of the top three gadgets that can actually save you money! Vornado heaters use vortex action technology to fully circulate the warm air throughout the room. This is unlike most space heaters that heat the space directly in front of the unit with the heat immediately rising to the ceiling. The AVTH allows you to set the temperature and then uses automatic climate control which adjusts the heat output and fan speed higher or lower to maintain the set temperature. This eliminates annoying hot and cold cycles where the heater shuts off allowing the room to cool and then turns back on to heat the room up again. This household heater is whisper-quiet and has advanced safety features to provide worry-free use."

[quote h']Do you have one?
Do you recommend it? I live in Los Angeles, the regular heater kicks in about once a week for ten minutes about 0500.
I do recommend all Vornado products though.
Did you read the TreeHugger link from the flyer?

Must be my politics but I do not have permission to enter the tree hugger link.

Still waiting to hear if heater is worth it. I like the idea of just a room heated.

I believe any individual room heater will be "better" as in more efficient than a whole house heater, assuming you only have need for one room to be warmer.

My basement/1st level is consistently about 5 or so degrees colder than the upstairs, summer and winter. I generally just put on an extra layer to keep warm down there which is the least expensive of all options, but having a heater would be nice.

Wish they included wattage-- would like a guess of how much of a strain it would put on the electricity. I already have the heating ducts set to focus the heat on the most necessary parts of the house, and a zoned programmable themostat to deliver it at the specific times most needed . . .
