Very interesting, though I wonder how painfully slow a 3600 rpm drive would be for everyday use. I still remember when the iBooks and Mac minis had 4200 rpm drives and, though useable, there was a noticeable improvement with 5400 rpm drives.
Analogous to trying to go back to dial up from a broadband connection, I wonder if it will be the same trying to go back to a 4200 (or 3600) rpm drive from a 5400 (or 7200) rpm drive.

An Apple rep at MacWorld told me the 160GB drive was too tall to fit in the case. But I think the "market engineering" theory in relation to the 64GB SSD drive does have some merit here.

Same here, they said that there were more platters in the 160G, so it was too tall.
