Macbook won't eject CD - abevilac - 02-08-2008

I have tried everything -- eject key, F12, reboot and hold down mouse, reboot and hold down C, reboot and hold down Opt Cmd C, etc. Nothing is working. I've tried looking for a paperclip hole but couldn't find one. The disc won't mount and won't eject. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I thought you have to hold down the button below the trackpad to eject the disk on startup. (or is that what you mean by "reboot and hold down mouse"?)

DavidS - yes, that's what I meant and did.

I think if you boot into OpenFirmWare via Option+Command+O+F you can then type "ejectcd". To reboot then just type "boot"

Re: Macbook won't eject CD - MacMagus - 02-08-2008

It's "eject cd" (no quotes) and then "mac-boot" (no quotes) in Open Firmware... but Intel Macs don't have Open Firmware so that's not gonna work.

If holding down the trackpad button on startup doesn't do the trick, try using the Terminal...

drutil tray eject

for the record: I went into Terminal and input -- drutil tray eject and nothing happened. I am taking it into the MacGenius later today and will report back to the forum.

Hey,

I found this to be a good way to Force Eject CD

See you around,
