Refurb Touch at AS online-Think they are new or really refurbed? - rgG - 02-29-2008 I was looking at those $229 refurb 8GB iPod touches at the Apple Store. It has been a couple of months since the updates came out, don't you think that a true refurb would have had the updates installed before they resold it? I mean, why not. They could get more for it and they should have to reinstall the software anyway. Do any of you think that these may just be returns of unsold stock from Apple Stores and maybe retailers? I know it doesn't really matter since the refurbs come with the same warranty, but I was just wondering if anyone else thought this might be the case. Re: Refurb Touch at AS online-Think they are new or really refurbed? - papercup - 02-29-2008 I think you are right, but given my experiences buying other Apple refurbs they ALL appear as new, sans packaging. Re: Refurb Touch at AS online-Think they are new or really refurbed? - cbelt3 - 02-29-2008 I'll chime in and say that refurb apple iPoddish like devices are usually returns, with associated mild scuffs and scrapes on their cases. The cables, earbuds, and ancillary components are all brand spankin' new.
